IBEW Leads The Way Preparing Workers For Jobs In The Green Economy

Local 223 has joined forces with Locals 7, 96, 103, and the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative to install solar lights in five communities throughout the Commonwealth.  The first to be installed was at the Wareham Town Hall.  These projects will provide the communities an awareness of renewable energy and how the IBEW is at the forefront of this new technology.  Click here and read about the project and related reports on renewable energy.

Local 223 Softball Team

There has been an interest in starting a softball team. Membership Development Director Brian Callahan along with Brother Tim Price are going to hold an informational meeting to discuss the team and the league that they will be playing in. At the end of the season the team would like to participate in Local 25's tournement in Long Island at the end of August.

At this meeting, they are looking for participants for the team and discuss how the costs for uniforms and the trip can be offset. Anyone interseted in becoming a member of the softball team is asked to attend the informational meeting on Wednesday March 12th at 5 PM at the Union Hall (this is before the Union meeting).

IBEW Fights Back

The IBEW Fight Back is a new website used to engage members into the legislative process.

The website is designed to allow members to register and be able to let their elected officials know where they
are, for or against upcoming legislation that effects working families of the IBEW.

Once that you register you will be able send an email to your elected officials either supporting or opposing
